Biopreservative «Bioamid-2»

Feed additive "Bioamid-2" is a dry biological preservative based on lactic acid bacteria, intended for silage and haylage of plant based feed.

Biopreservative "Bioamid-2" provides:

  • Enhanced nutrition by means of increase of the content of crude protein, soluble carbohydrates, vitamins;
  • Prevention of butyric fermentation and putrefaction of the feed subject to preservation;
  • Natural color and structure of the feed;
  • Good consumption by animals and normalization of nutritional processes;
  • Compliance with the Class 1 of at least 95 % of silage and haylage prepared using the biopreservative;
  • High feed quality during extended storage.

Detailed description of positive effects of biopreservative "Bioamid-2" application

Enhanced nutrition of feed prepared using the biopreservative "Bioamid-2"

The biopreservative enables to increase retention of:

  • Feed units – by 25 %
  • Digestible protein – by 25–33 %
  • Solids – by 5–8 %
  • Carotene – by 2.5 times
  • Soluble carbohydrates by means of amylolysis with amylase of lactic acid bacteria.

Prevention of butyric fermentation and putrefaction of the feed preserved using the biopreservative "Bioamid-2"

Application of the biopreservative "Bioamid 2" leads to decrease in waste of the top layer of silage from 30-50 cm to 10 cm as well as almost complete absence of butyric acid in the feed. This effect is achieved due to the rapid growth of the two types of lactic acid bacteria, which are the effective agents of the "Bioamid-2", in plant basis subject to preservation. The increase of the number of lactic acid bacteria starts in spray material of the biopreservative by means of nutrients of dry milk which is the part of the preparation. This enables to avoid milk or serum acquisition cost for activation of the preparation. Lactic acid bacteria coming out of inactive state get in plants, proliferate, and inhibit growth of bacteria and fungi triggering putrefaction and butyric fermentation in silage. Inhibition of malignant microorganisms and quick feed preservation occur by fast growing concentration of lactic and acetic acids. These acids form during lactic acid bacterial fermentation of carbohydrates of the green basis. A distinctive feature of the biopreservative "Bioamid 2" are specifically selected lactic acid bacteria that are able to utilize not only hexose (glucose), but also pentoses (xylose, arabinose) and starch and dextrins. The growth and activity of bacteria contained in the biopreservative "Bioamid-2" stop almost completely when the pH of the green basis decreases to below 4, which provides partial protection from silage superacidulation.

Natural color and structure of the feed prepared using the biopreservative "Bioamide-2"

Silage and haylage made using the biopreservative "Bioamid-2" have a natural color, an undisturbed structure, and a pleasant fruity scent.

Consumption of feed prepared using the biopreservative "Bioamid-2" by animals

The feed prepared using the biopreservative "Bioamid-2" is well eaten by animals, normalizes nutritional processes, which prevents the occurrence of ketosis and acidosis. This promotes increase of daily average milk yield of cows, liveweight gain of animals. Facts outlined above reduce costs for animal nutrition.

Quality of silage and haylage prepared using the biopreservative "Bioamid-2"

Many years of experience and tests show that: at least 95 % of silage and haylage prepared using the biopreservative comply with the Class 1 (in Belarus the silage complied with the top quality standard).

High quality of the feed prepared using the biopreservative "Bioamide-2" during extended storage

The biopreservative "Bioamid-2" provides high quality of feed in case of extended storage (up to 3 years)

Area of application.

The biopreservative "Bioamid-2" is used to prepare silage and haylage of:

  • Corn, sorghum, sunflower;
  • Annual and perennial legumes and grasses mixtures;
  • Mounting forage herbs;
  • Reed – singly and in mixture with straw.
