Feed additive "Bioamid-2" is a dry biological preservative based on lactic acid bacteria, intended for silage and haylage of plant based feed.

- Solids – by 5–8 %
- Carotene – by 2.5 times

Prevention of butyric fermentation and putrefaction of the feed preserved using the biopreservative "Bioamid-2"
Application of the biopreservative "Bioamid 2" leads to decrease in waste of the top layer of silage from 30-50 cm to 10 cm as well as almost complete absence of butyric acid in the feed. This effect is achieved due to the rapid growth of the two types of lactic acid bacteria, which are the effective agents of the "Bioamid-2", in plant basis subject to preservation. The increase of the number of lactic acid bacteria starts in spray material of the biopreservative by means of nutrients of dry milk which is the part of the preparation. This enables to avoid milk or serum acquisition cost for activation of the preparation. Lactic acid bacteria coming out of inactive state get in plants, proliferate, and inhibit growth of bacteria and fungi triggering putrefaction and butyric fermentation in silage. Inhibition of malignant microorganisms and quick feed preservation occur by fast growing concentration of lactic and acetic acids. These acids form during lactic acid bacterial fermentation of carbohydrates of the green basis. A distinctive feature of the biopreservative "Bioamid 2" are specifically selected lactic acid bacteria that are able to utilize not only hexose (glucose), but also pentoses (xylose, arabinose) and starch and dextrins. The growth and activity of bacteria contained in the biopreservative "Bioamid-2" stop almost completely when the pH of the green basis decreases to below 4, which provides partial protection from silage superacidulation.
